William Healey

Personal Details

Born: 15 June 1890 in Whitchurch, Shropshire and baptised in St. Alkmund’s Parish Church on 16 July in the same year.

Family: He was the youngest of three children of Frederick Healey, a general carrier, and his wife Sarah. He married Ursula M Oxley in 1939 and together they had one child William G.

Residence: The family were living in Chester Road, Whitchurch at the time of his baptism. By 1901 they had moved to Gig Lane, Whitchurch and by 1911 to 26 Pepper Street, the address shown on the 1919 Absent Voters’ Register. By 1939 William had married and was living at 7 Arderne Road, Altrincham, Cheshire.

Employment: In 1911 his occupation was railway porter; the 1939 Register records him as a shipping clerk.

Died: In 1947 in Bucklow, Cheshire, aged 57.
