Personal Details

Born: 4 December 1897 in Marley Green, Cheshire and baptised 2 January 1898 in Marbury Parish Church, Cheshire. (Note that the date of birth declared on the 1939 Register was 26 October 1897)

Family: He was the youngest of four children born to William Stockton, a railway goods porter, and his wife Elizabeth. He married Ada Maddocks in 1927 in Whitchurch; no children can be identified for the marriage.

Residence: In 1901 he was living with his parents and siblings at Brough Hall, Broughall, Whitchurch, Shropshire; by 1911 they had  moved to 5 Waymills, Whitchurch. In 1919 the family home was 24 Belton Road, Whitchurch and this is where we believe he lived when he left the RAF. In 1939 he was living with his wife at 9 Rosemary Lane, Whitchurch.

Employment: Fitter

Died: 1967 in Whitchurch, aged 69, and was buried 10 August the same year in Whitchurch cemetery.
