Born: 22 May 1900 in Whitchurch, Shropshire.

Family: He was the tenth of eleven children born to Alfred Arrowsmith, an iron foundry labourer, and his wife Ellen Arrowsmith. He married Dorothy Cooke in 1922 in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and together they had 4 children – Denis R, Anthony W, Beryl D and Jeanette E.

Residence: In 1901 the family were living in Edgeley, Whitchurch, Shropshire; ten years later they had moved to Moss View, Broughall, Whitchurch, Shropshire. In 1939 they were living at 4 Palmers Green, Stoke on Trent and when Robert died in 1976 he was living at 28 Cornwall Avenue, Clayton, Newcastle under Lyme.

Employment: Motor driver & motor dismantler dealer.

Died: 7 June 1976
