Born:  In 1883 in Hopesay, Shropshire.

Family:  Eldest of three children of Thomas and Elizabeth Carter. Married Alice Jane Morgan in Ludlow, Shropshire in 1910 and together they had one child, Ethel M.

Residence:  In 1891 George lived at Purslow, Clunbury, Shropshire with his parents and siblings. By 1911 he had married and was living at 156 Wrexham Road, Whitchurch where he continued to live until at least 1939.

Occupation:  The 1911 Census shows him as a bread baker; in 1939 his occupation is assurance superintendent.

Died:  In 1965 in Ellesmere, Shropshire aged 81.
