Family: He was the youngest of five children born to Ralph Wright Burgess, a cheese factor, and his wife Margaret Jane (nee Thursfield). Eric married Ethel Harriet Rodger on 5 June 1922 at Trinity Church, Tempest Road, Hunslet, Yorkshire. The couple had two children, Joyce born 1924 and Ralph born 1929.
Residence: From 1899 until 1919 Ralph was living at 21 Smallbrook Road, Whitchurch, Shropshire. In 1939 he and his family were at 31 Westbourne Road, Yeovil, Somerset.
Employment: On his Attestation Records his occupation was given as an apprentice in the boot trade. However by 1939 he was a photographer.
Died: 1966 in Leicestershire.
