Personal Details

Born:   Edward was born 21 December 1877 at Tilley, near Wem, Shropshire and was baptised 20 January 1878 at Clive Parish Church, Clive, Shropshire.

Family:  He was the eldest of five children born to Richard Fardoe, a labourer, and his wife Harriet, nee Kea. He married Sarah Esther Smith on 27 December 1899 at Grinshill Parish Church, Grinshill, Shropshire. They had two daughters, Gladys Esther and Harriet Louisa.

Residence:  At the time of the 1881 Census his family were living in Tilley, Wem, Shropshire. In 1901 and now married, he had moved to Broughton, Wem but ten years later their address was Morton, near Oswestry, Shropshire. Upon his Attestation in December 1914 he gave his address as Shrawardine, Shrewsbury. However at some stage during the following four years his family had again moved, this time to 13 Sherrymill Hill, Whitchurch. By 1939 he had moved once more to Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire. A death is recorded for him in the Stafford district of Staffordshire.

Employment:    Edward appears to have been an agricultural labourer during his working life.

Died:   Quarter 1 1958, Stafford, Staffordshire, aged 80.
