Report in the Chester Chronicle 30th October 1915 regarding the death of Joseph Stevenson

"THREAPWOOD
ANIOTHER HERO'S DEATH
Threapwood has done well in the great war. The first of her sons to fall was No. 9925 Pte. George Matthews, 1st King's Shropshire Light Infantry, at Armentieres, on March 5th, after being out at the front from the commencement of the war. He was the son of Mr. George Matthews, of Threapwood. The second hero from Threapwood is Pte. Joseph Stevenson, Cheshire Regiment, who fell in the last great attempt against the German redoubt. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Stevenson, of Booth Cottages, Threapwood."
