Born: 3 January 1887 and baptised at Whitchurch Wesleyan chapel on 7 March.

Family:  Eldest child of John and Emma Ackerley. Brother of Sarah Ann and Ellen. In 1915 Charles married Mabel Penlington at Whitchurch, Shropshire and together they had five children, Frances S, John H, Marian M, Mary E and Nora A.

Residence: At the time of his baptism the family lived at Nomansheath, Cheshire. The census returns for 1891 & 1901 listed the family residing at Hampton, Malpas, Cheshire. Ten years later he lived at Witney Farm, Edge, Malpas, Cheshire where he worked as a farm servant.  In 1939 Charles and Mabel resided at 33 Grindley Brook, Whitchurch, Shropshire.

Employment: In 1939 he was a horseman and cowman on a farm.

Died: During the last quarter of 1955 aged 68
