Family: The 1901 Census shows Percy as the nephew of Joseph Davies; the 1911 Census records him as Percy Davies living in the same household at the same address. It is probable that he took the surname Davies, but due to having to provide a birth certificate was known as Percy Chidlow throughout his military service. Percy (Davies) married Laura Ashley in 1926 and together they had 2 children – Florence A C and Irene C.
Residence: He was living at 38 Worthington Street, Whitchurch, Shropshire at the time of the 1901 and 1911 Censuses and his enlistment in 1918. In 1939 the family were living at 24 Ash Magna, Wem, Shropshire.
Employment: His occupation was a bread delivery driver at the time of his enlistment and a road labourer in 1939.
Died: 1967, aged 66.
