News was received last week that Cpl. L. Passant, 1st Mons. Regt. had been recommended for immediate reward for gallantry displayed and services rendered to his wounded comrades, under heavy fire, in the early day of June. In pre-war days Cpl. Passant was an enthusiastic member of the local Football Club, and will be remembered for his service as goalkeeper.
