Born:   John was born 5 July 1896 in Birkenhead and baptised 2 August 1896 at Holy Trinity Church, Birkenhead, Cheshire.

Family: He was the second of four children born to John Richard Bussey, an assistant school teacher and grocer, and his wife Margaret Jane, nee Beedles. No marriage can be found for John.

Residence: In 1901 his family were living at Church Street, Bishops Castle, Shropshire. Ten years later the family had moved to 6 Brownlow Street, Whitchurch, Shropshire but the address given for him on the 1919 Absent Voters List was 19 Park Road, Whitchurch. In 1939 he is recorded as staying at the Salisbury Hotel, Clifton Gardens, Folkestone, Kent. At the time of his death in 1978 he was living at 29 Elm Park Court, Pinner, Middlesex.

Employment: On the National Probate Register for December 1939 his occupation was stated as a leather salesman.

Died:   2 February 1978 in Brent, Middlesex, aged 81.
