John Glover (known as Jack), born in Hereford in 1890, the second son of William J Glover of Foel, Llangadfan, Welshpool, Montgomeryshire, Wales and the late Mary Jane Glover.
Jack lived in Kent. He enlisted in Ashford in 1914, declaring his occupation as domestic footman.
Jack was linked to Malpas through his aunt, Eliza Ann Downes (his mother’s sister), who lived at Cross O’th Hill, Malpas, Cheshire. Jack had lived with her at some time in the past. The Glovers came from and lived in the Malpas area, although Jack does not appear to have been living with his parents and siblings..
