Personal Details

Born:   4 October 1893 in Whitchurch, Shropshire and baptised 25 October 1893 at St. Alkmund`s Church, Whitchurch.

Family:   He was the fourth of seven children born to John Furber, a labourer, and his wife Mary.  He married Sarah Powell on 20 December 1924 at Forden Parish Church, Forden, Montgomeryshire. The couple had a daughter, Hazel M born Quarter 3 1925 in Whitchurch, Shropshire.

Residence:   From the time of his birth until at least 1919 George`s address was 45 Talbot Street, Whitchurch. By the time of the 1939 Register he was living at 66 Talbot Street. This is also the address given for him on his Death Certificate in 1968.

Employment:  In 1911 he was employed as a baker`s apprentice, but by 1939 he had become a water engineer.

Died:   George died in the Royal Salop Infirmary, Shrewsbury, Shropshire on 24 December 1968.
