Frederick Arthur Baxter

Personal Details

Born:  Frederick`s birth was registered in the second quarter of 1879 and he was baptised on May 14th in that year at St. Alkmund`s Parish Church, Whitchurch, Shropshire.

Family: He was the son of William Thomas Baxter, a butcher, and his wife Anna Maria. By the time of the 1881 Census, Frederick was living with John and Ann Ankers as a boarder, aged 2. On subsequent Censuses he was described as their adopted son.

Residence:  According to the baptism entry for Frederick in 1879 his address was in Sharrow Mill Hill, Whitchurch, Shropshire. On the 1881 and 1891 Censuses he was living with John and Ann Ankers at 8 Sherrymill Hill, Whitchurch, Shropshire.  By 1901 the family had moved to 11 Bark Hill but by 1911 Frederick’s address was 16 Yardington, Whitchurch, Shropshire, where he was a boarder.

Upon his death in 1924, the National Probate Register gave  his address as Yardington, Whitchurch, Shropshire.

Employment: His occupation on the 1901 Census was described as an ironworker`s labourer but in 1911 he was a general labourer.

Died:  In Whitchurch, Shropshire on 24 September 1924, aged 45.
