Frank Thomas Barron was born in Whitchurch in 1893. He was the only son of Thomas and Alice Barron of 9, St Mary's Street, Whitchurch. The 1911 Census shows that at the age of 18 he was working as an apprentice in a Boot Shop.
Frank enlisted with many more members of the Whitchurch, Church Lads Brigade on the 21st September 1914. He landed in France on the 17th November 1915.
