Personal Details

Born in Norbury, Marbury, Cheshire in July 1896, the third son of William and Grace Ann Hopley of The Bank, Norbury, Cheshire.

The 1911 Census shows Alfred working on his father’s farm.

His sister, Fanny Hopley, is also commemorated on his Commonwealth War Graves Commission headstone.
